Geronimo Construction is an LLC Based in Biwabik, Minnesota. The owners, Reid and Ross bring a balance and depth of experience in all forms of construction and aerial work. While the company itself is fairly young, the experience level is extensive:
- Over 20 years of general building and construction experience
- 12 years of facilitation and operations on Challenge Courses and Canopy Tours
- 11 years of building, rigging and maintenance experience on large elevated projects
We design all of our courses to provide for the safety of the participants as well as with an eye to detail and long term use. Our tree based designs use the minimum of intrusions into the tree, and with proper annual maintenance will allow the tree to grow without impediment for 5-7 years before significant maintenance is required. There is an ongoing discussion in the industry whether it is better to back off hardware to allow for tree growth or to let it grow over and replace more often. The back off method allows the course to last longer before replacement but the argument against it is that the movement of the hardware in the tree reopens the wound allowing for potential complications. Our designs allow for the backing off of exterior hardware to keep it from being overgrown by the tree, while keeping the internal hardware in place so the tree is not reinjured every time the hardware is moved. Our designs are also built with long term maintenance in mind. Once the initial growth space is taken up, only a minimum of parts need to be replaced. Our ledger designs are in the patent process.
